At Island Aesthetics, we use a variety of dermal fillers & neuromodulators to smooth fine lines & wrinkles, fill areas of hollowness where fat loss has occurred, and enhance facial structure. We choose the type of filler based on the area of the face we are treating. We offer two types of neuromodulators to treat facial lines/wrinkles but also use them to treat TMJ Syndrome, migraine headaches, cervical dystonia, & muscle spasm.
Botox
BOTOX® is the most popular neuromodulator that temporarily reduces muscle activity which leads to moderate-severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines. This improves the appearance of wrinkles, leaving you with a more youthful face. Botox can be used to relax muscles of the jaw, head, & neck, providing relief from TMJ syndrome, migraine headaches, & neck or other muscle spasms. Additionally, Botox can be used to treat excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).
Botox Specifics
Botox is injected into the muscle with a fine needle. It takes 2-5 days to see results & maximum effect will be seen in 2 weeks. Effects generally last 3-4 months. Getting Botox on a regular schedule maximizes its effect & can prevent the development of deeper, more pronounced wrinkles.
